THE PRISONER
I am a prisoner
Bound by chains
Another one
Of love's preys
I am no longer there
When the north wind blows
From my tears
Swallows are born
They swarm onwards
Towards heaven's door
You think I am gone
Could blame you?
You were but a speck
On love's chessboard
I am never gone
My ashes gather dust
On the pictures on your mantelpiece
My blood reddens the roses
That you offer to vanity
My soul wanders in the air
As you dance to the breeze
My voice echoes wildly
As the clock strikes the last hour
My eyes flutter silently
As you dance with another
The hallways ,the streets ,the docks
Contain the steps I took
The footprints will stay for eternity
For I am never gone
When you think you are free
To run along the railway track
To shout into the wilderness
And wait for an answer
You'll see the ghost of a girl
Running beside
When your thoughts wander
As you sit beside the fireside
The fire thrives on my spirit
You are never alone
For the iris beside you growing in the windowside
Had blossomed after the day I died
