STRANGER
Stranger do I know you
Come closer
Let me see you
You seem to be
A faint reflection
Of a mirror
That broke long ago.
Stranger
I remember
All you did was speak
And yet I staggered back
I had nothing to hold
And so I fell.
Stranger
I remember
The pictures on the wall
That I ripped
Burned
Tore apart
Until I stood in ruins.
Stranger
Do you remember
The white wedding dress
That lay to gather dust and dirt
Too scarlet
With the wounds that bled.
Stranger
I remember
That day
We stood in the rain
A lost world between us
And we
At the desolate edge.
Tears turn fire
They always do
Until they flow to the valley
Some call abandonment.
Stranger
Run away
Before its too late
For in this hinterland
Fire burns
Even the small things
Away.
