CLOSE MY EYES

When I close my eyes

I see

Shadows

Wandering left and right

Searching for solace

I will keep them closed

Closed

Until they find their way back home

Perhaps I will too 

One day

For now

I am a nomad

Lost among 

Dunes of sand.

When I close my eyes

I see

Rain

Shattering the windows 

That I call my eyes

They dance as they fall

Screaming for the last time

Before this earth swallows them

 "Splatter"

I can hear them still

Perhaps that is why

I close my eyes

As I cry.

I close my eyes and see

A million stars

Scattered across the night sky

They don't blink

Too scared 

That a greater light

Will push them to 

The edge of oblivion

We are all the same

Perhaps that is why

We learn 

To close our eyes.

When I close my eyes

I see

Streetlights

Like how they would look

Hazy and disappearing

In the ripples of skyscape.

Perhaps

Our eyes are closed

Till the end of our time

We see only our reflections

We never realise.

We see ourselves 

In puddles of rain

The bloodshed of the skies

That no one saw

For it was not red.
