LIGHT
I picked up the bars
That were ripped apart
Every time I was freed
To build a cage.
Within it I reside.
I carve the emptiness
Into figures whose touch
I had long forgotten
Yet as I drew them
Into an everlasting embrace
The only hands that reached my heart
Were my own.
I need no light
When I close my eyes
I can ravage the skies in a glimpse
And traverse the mountains high
I can follow the stars to all the places
They never led me.
I need no light
But my own
To make the dried grasses grow
Into meadows green.
